How to Pitch to Buyers

Quality over quantity. Personal connections, hotel takeovers, and the art of recruiting the right buyers for your hosted buyer event.

Quality over quantity

The best buyer recruiters don't blast emails. They build personal connections. "I know every person's name and company and what they do by heart" — that's the standard.

Get personal

  • Get to know them before the event — hop on calls, learn their priorities
  • The best organizers create actual value before the show — the relationship starts months before the event
  • Hand-introduce people if you have to — don't leave it to chance

Pay for their experience

  • Pay for their hotel, travel, and accommodation
  • Some organizers go as far as paying for hotel rooms for both sellers and buyers and hosting the meetings in the rooms — total hotel floor takeovers
  • Make them so comfortable they refer others without being asked

Niche down

  • Make all of your events tailored to the same buyers or sellers — the network effect is huge
  • The more specific your buyer profile, the better your matches, the higher your retention
